What is Aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy is the use of natural plant extracts (essential oils) in holistic treatments to improve health and wellbeing. Used for thousands of years, essential oils, extracted from plants all over the world, possess distinctive therapeutic properties which can be used to treat a range of conditions to help rebalance the body and mind, and in doing so, promote positive health. Aromatherapy is used by people for a variety of reasons. Some use it to help them manage or cope with specific physical mental or emotional problems, while others use it as a means of relaxation, or to help maintain good health.

Aromatherapy Massage
Massage is the use of the hands to manipulate the soft tissues of the body thus relaxing either a specific area or the whole person. It is both a soothing and nourishing experience in itself, not least because of the unspoken communication based on touch. A variety of massage techniques are used to manipulate the soft body tissue (fascia) surrounding the muscles and bones. This includes effleurage (slow flowing movements) to soothe and relax, petrissage (kneading and wringing) to aid toning, lymphatic drainage and acupressure to improve circulation and encourage the removal of toxins and waste products from the body's systems. Depending on the condition, it can also be stimulating. Massage provides the most effective way of introducing aromatherapy essential oils into the body, through the physical and aromatic effects of the oils.
Aromatherapy massage aims to treat both the symptom and its real cause in order to restore the body's balance as quickly as possible. The skin also benefits from the nourishing essential and carrier oils used in the massage, leaving it feeling soft and supple. And most notably, the beautiful, natural aromas fill the room, enhancing a profound sense of wellbeing, balance and harmony within the mind and body. Combining the healing and aromatic power of essential oils with soothing aromatherapy massage techniques, promotes a deeply restorative experience on all levels, enhancing general wellbeing.
